Wisdom High School senior Gemale Sheali signed a letter of intent to play football at Aurora University on Friday, May 21. The 6-for-2, 215 pound Tight End will play for former NFL wide receiver and Spartans head coach Don Beebe.
“I’m excited to have this incredible opportunity to play for Coach Beebe and I can’t wait to get out there,” Sheali said. “I want to thank my family and the coaching staff here at Wisdom, as well as all my teammates including Souhail Zouidi and Patrick Bukuru, for inspiring me and helping me become a better athlete.”
Generals Head Coach Jacque Tinsley was particularly impressed with the way Sheali went about his business while playing for the Generals, even though the team struggled to compete during this Covid-restricted season.
“He found the work ethic he needed to be able to make changes in his development, and he started to understand what athletes need to do,” Tinsley said. “His character is what earned him this scholarship and his athletic ability has improved dramatically.”
The Aurora Spartans are a Division III program that competes in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and the University is located just outside of Chicago, Illinois.
