Generals’ UIL Academic Team Competes Virtually

The Wisdom generals UIL Academic team once again proved their enthusiasm and commitment to the team.  Although It has been a major adjustment to get used to online exams, the Wisdom UIL team had perseverance in the face of obstacles. Wisdom generals competed in the Houston ISD Invitational held on Saturday, January 16th. All the events were held virtually, as students competed online from home.

Sophomore Math Team member Paul Oh was Wisdom’s top finisher, as he placed 6th in Number Sense,  5th in science, and 4th in social studies.
In calculator Applications, senior Wilmer Salgado placed 1st, while Bruno Santana placed 4th.
In English and Literature, senior Sidra Hassan was 5th  in literary criticism. In social studies, Pablo Flores Campos got 1st place.

Other Generals that competed include seniors  Nainel Patel,  Nayelis Pedroso Estrada, Leslee Cruz, and Nadielis Pedroso Estrada, juniors Nashra Hassan, Giovanni Pacheco, Marima Masud, and freshmen Brayan Rivas and Jose Cerritos.
This year’s Wisdom UIL Team is coached by Mr. Cantu (Math), Mr. Alcantar (Math), Mrs. Cho (Math), Mrs. Dulaney Smith (English), Mr. Clarkson (History & Current Events), and Mr. Fanucchi (Journalism).
