Former Klein Cain Wrestling Coach Ron Robertson has taken over the program here at Wisdom, and Athletic Director Bridgette Davis couldn’t be more excited. Robertson is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he began his coaching career, and has been doing so for 24 years. He has coached numerous state champions and runner-ups, as well as three All-Americans.
In Texas, Robertson has been at both Jersey Village and Cypress Lakes high schools as an assistant coach. Then, he became the Head Coach at Klein Cain, where they won the boys UIL District 12-5A title and he was named the District 12-5A Coach of the Year.
ā€œIā€™m excited about being here at Wisdom, and having the opportunity to improve this program for the Generals,ā€ Robertson said. “The team right now is looking like they have some great potential this year.”
Practice has started, as the group prepares for an upcoming match on Friday, and the District tournament in February. Robertson is still allowing all students with eligible passing grades to come out for the team and compete. They practice on Tuesdays & Thursday after school.
