Our school has decided to compose a technology team to lend a hand to our many teachers here who happen to face some challenges implementing this exciting tools into our classrooms and with our new updated laptops. The team is composed of five teachers: Mr. Shauberger, Ms. Forssmann, Mr. Leroy, Mr. Caldera and Mr. Gregory. We have gathered their thoughts about being elected for this hardworking team and how they plan to contribute.

“The purpose of the technology team is to help teachers understand how to use the smart boards and the new laptops that have been distributed, as well as any new technology that they would like to implement into their lesson plans,” Mr. Gregory said. “This can become very challenging since the smart boards and the wiring for our classrooms is new, and doesn’t always work correctly every time. There are glitches that take time to work out and we have to find a solution to that new problem.”

“We want to aid our fellow teachers with the tools that can help them, especially with the use of new computer programs,” said Ms. Forssman. “This has become one of our toughest problems since we now have to use our laptops to create all lesson plans and assessments. There is no guide on how to do all of this, so we help answer questions and get them on the right track.”

In addition, Mr. Gregory has found that the process of teachers implementing smart board usage into the classrooms has been slow. “But, that is why the technology team is here now to help, because we love using technology in our lives and this knowledge allows us to be able to explain to other teachers who do not use it as much. Once our outstanding teachers learn how to operate things more comfortably, we believe the usage will increase.”
