Wisdom High School Principal Jonathan Trinh announced today that our brand new campus – located at 6529 Beverly Hill Street – will be hosting a Community Empowerment event organized by Houston City Council Member Amanda Edwards on Sunday, December 3 from 12:00 Noon – 3:30 p.m. The event was originally planned for back in September, before Hurricane Harvey postponed it.
“Be the Solution: A Youth & Family Immigration Town Hall” will focus on a panel discussion that will include: Gene Wu – Texas State Representative of District 137; Charles C. Foster – Immigration Attorney & Chairman of Foster LLP; Chief Art Acevedo – Chief of Police for the Houston Police Department; Norma Torres Mendoza – DREAMer; Jill Campbell – Immigration Attorney with BakerRipley; and Juliet Stipeche – Director of Education for the City of Houston.
Citizens of Houston are encouraged to come to the event – which is free to the public – to engage in a discussion with these community leaders and immigration experts. Residents can get their questions answered about the latest immigration policies including Texas Senate Bill 4 and leave equipped with the knowledge about how the laws impact you, your family, and your community.
The event will be moderated by Council Member Edwards and Co-Moderated by Cynthia Cisneros of ABC 13, and it will be translated in Spanish.

There will also be a Resource Fair of Immigration and Refugee Organizations.
