It was a battle down to the last minute and a valiant effort by the senior class, but the Wisdom HS Faculty remained unbeaten in the last six years after yesterday’s basketball game against the seniors ended in a 55-55 tie. Coach Hobbs made two free throws at the end of the game right when the bell sounded, to prevent the seniors from getting the victory, and keep the faculty’s unbeaten streak alive.
Senior Brandon Mills – who played for the Class of 17 – didn’t agree with the outcome.
“The teachers and faculty cheated us on the scoreboard and the referee called some uneccesary fouls that allowed the score to be tied at the end,” said Mills. “But it’s OK. We’ll beat them in a rematch soon.”
It was also an amazing performance by the supporting faculty & staff cheerleaders and dancers who put on a great show at halftime, for the students that purchased a ticket to watch the game.
In addition, senior Uriel Noyola asked his girlfriend Jackeline Umanzor to go with him to the Senior Prom with an elaborate sign and flowers, in front of the entire crowd at halftime.
