Former NFL Football Player Tyrone Smith held his first Mentoring session on campus today in the library. Smith’s “First and Goal” program will hold meetings at 10:00 am on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, moving forward.
“We try to help shape the leadership skills that we’d like to see in these young men,” said Smith, who played for the San Francisco 49ers in the 90’s. “There is always room for improvement in that department, as these boys become men. We try to turn them into a better version of themselves.”
Smith provides the service to several other school districts in the Houston metro area, as well as the Harris County Youth Development Department.
Any students that would like to be a part of the group, please see Mrs. Broadnax in the Counselors Office.
